No Eggs? No Worries, Legend—Fuel Up with These Epic Breakfast Swaps

High protein breakfast recipes without relying on eggs!

Those living in the U.S. have been hit hard by avian influenza, leading to the culling of a lot of egg-laying hens. If only we had the strength of the Philadelphia Eagles… that was insane to watch. While I didn’t have any eggs for my Super Bowl party, it looked like someone had been sneaking them to the Eagles' D-line because they were on another level!

I know I spoke last week about how impactful Ryan Holiday’s The Obstacle Is the Way has been, but this situation is another perfect example. When someone asks me, “If you had access to any ingredients, what dish would you cook to impress?” it’s actually a tough question. With too many options, my brain goes in a million directions! But if you gave me just five ingredients and a time limit? I could whip up endless ideas. Former Google executive Marissa Mayer once said, “Creativity loves constraints,” and she’s spot on.

So, what does this mean for us? Well, the egg shortage might just be the perfect excuse to explore alternative high-protein breakfast options you never considered. Let the obstacle spark creativity—or even lead you down a more fruit-ful (see what I did there?) path.

So yes… I have created some recipes below for you to enjoy.

In this weeks Newsletter (5 min read)

🧆 Alternative forms breakfast options with even more protein

🏃🏻‍♂️ What I learned from my lactate threshold results

🐶 One of you is getting the best in quality protein from me… well your best friend is… keep reading :)

Alternative breakfast options

Ok, yes… eggs are epic. They can be creamy, hearty, and savory; they bind things together. I get it. I’m not happy about the situation either. Fortunately, I’ve set myself up with alternative breakfast options and rarely deviate from a special Power Bowl you’ve heard me talk about time and time again. I know eggs are easy and reliable… I know they’re such an awesome go-to… but legend, let’s broaden our horizons.

Power Bowl… I have said this time and time again… it is my go to… with 32g of protein, 23 Fat and 65g Carbs it is a legit specimen of energy. If you signed up to this newsletter you would have received it automatically, but in the event that you did not bookmark it (no big deal mate). HERE is the link

Salted Caramel Granola Bowl… I am releasing this video this week, but to get you ahead of the curve, you can see the recipe right HERE. I usually leave this for the afternoon, and make the granola as a batch to snack on, but it is absolutely wicked as a breakfast option too. with 28g Protein it is a solid off the bench option for eggs.

Lactate Thresholds

Now this was a fun experiment for me. Have you ever wanted to know which HR zone you should be training in for a specific performance adaptation? Last week we launched the next episode of my road to Sub 60 on Youtube, I had my training zones tested by Different Health… What I wanted to guide you all through here is. If you are someone who likes training in specific training zones (ie) for zone 2 and aerobic performance (which I have talked extensively about in this newsletter) vs zone 4, the most accurate way to do this is by doing one of these tests.

Yes you can use the existing wearable you have but it is not as accurate as getting it truly tested on you. Now I know my zone 2 is between 121 and 141 BPM and that is where I will be chilling on my easy runs!

For the full breakdown on how this is tested and to see me put through my paces, click HERE to watch it on my channel

I want to hear your Puppy Rawwwwww

I am asked what is the best diet for us to eat… my answer is always “the one that works for you” the same goes for your best friend. I used to have Mav eat kibble but after doing research we did make the switch to raw. I love that he is getting a high protein, quality meat diet and I can tell it is working based on testing it out on him over the last 6 months, but I know he loves it, as he gets pumped for meal time.

To celebrate my new partnership with my go to raw dog food company We Feed Raw, i want to give one of you dog owners a month supply of WFR on me. Simply go to the post on instagram announcing my partnership with WFR and comment your dogs name and your favorite thing about them :)

Quick Notes:
